Virginia High recovered in their second game of the day at Disney's
Spring Training at Disney World's Wide World of Sports with a 9-2 win
over Garfield Heights of Ohio. VHS struggled in the first game of the
day to take a loss but came back with a nine hit performance against
Garfield. Willie  Oakes
had two hits and two RBI's to lead the Bearcats at the plate and Brent
Davenport stepped up as designated hitter with a pair of hits, an RBI
and scoring twice. Zak Messer blasted an RBI triple in the left-center
gap while Trey Roark and Hunter Greer each added RBI doubles. Trey Roark
got the win on the mound and gave up four hits in four innings of work
before giving way to relief in the hot Florida sun. The Bearcats will
close out their Spring Training at Disney World with a game on Thursday
against Francis W Parker High School of Chicago.
