Virginia High opens up play at Disney World with 15-0 victory over Churchville, NY

4/9/07 Virginia High opened up play at Disney World's Wide World of Sports Spring Training with a 15-0 win over Churchville of New York. VHS exploded for nine runs in the third off five hits, with eight batters coming to the plate with two outs on the board. Pitcher Justin Grimm worked the entire five inning game accumulating eleven strikeouts and only allowing one hit which came in the final inning with two outs. Tyler Arnold and Zak Messer both performed well at the plate with Messer belting out a single, double and a triple to go three for three with three RBI's while Arnold knocked a pair of hits and finished up two for two with two RBI's. Preston Smith banged out two hits and Trey Roark knocked an RBI double. The Bearcats closed out the day with a total of eleven hits. VHS will take Tuesday off before resuming play at Disney World on Wednesday with a doubleheader.
