VHS opened Highlands District Tournament play with an 11-1 fourteen hit
win over Marion. Virginia High advances to the finals and will face
Abingdon on Saturday. Willie Oakes and Hunter Greer each finished up
 three for four at the
plate. Oakes belted a triple, double and a single while scoring three
runs and Greer added a double, two singles, three RBI's and also scored
three runs. Trey Roark had another strong performance on the mound with
the complete game, giving up three hits. Roark added five strikeouts and
gave up one earned run, Robbie Stout, Justin Grimm and Brandon Arnold
each provided a pair of hits. Stout also had a pair of RBI's and Grimm
popped a long triple in the gap to earn an RBI. Preston Smith had an RBI
base hit.
