VHS gets revenge with 7-3 win over Daniel Boone

5/2/07 VHS got revenge for an earlier loss in the season with a 7-3 win over Daniel Boone. Virginia High suffered a 9-3 loss early in the season at Daniel Boone and knew they would have to play to come away with the win against a strong team from Tennessee. Starting pitcher Trey Roark got off to a rough start with the first two batters banging out base hits. Daniel Boone got on the scoreboard first with an RBI ground out followed by an RBI base hit. Roark settled in and held the Trailblazers hitless over the next four innings. The Bearcats struck back in the bottom of the first inning with back to back doubles from Brandon Arnold and Willie Oakes. Oakes double plated Arnold and Oakes scored with a double steal. The Bearcats added runs in the second and third along with three big runs in the fourth. Roark helped his own cause with a two for two night at the plate, banging a triple and scoring twice. Oakes had a pair of RBI's with a double and a single. Hunter Greer added an RBI double.
