Virginia High banged out seventeen hits to cruise past Johnson County by
a score of 11-0. The Bearcats made the trip to Mountain City, TN and
slowly added runs over the seven inning game. Preston Smith earned the
win on the mound for  the
Bearcats giving up three hits with six strikeouts in five innings of
work. Zak Messer played well defensively and also put in one inning of
work in the seventh as pitcher and struck out the side. Willie Oakes
banged out three hits
and three RBI's for the Bearcats and Justin Grimm punched two doubles
and a single with an RBI to finish up three for four. Grimm looked as
though he had a perfect four for four game but was later called out on a
dropped fly ball after reaching base. Trey Roark, Tyler Arnold, Hunter
Greer and Brandon Arnold all ended the game with two hits apiece.
