Virginia High's first two batters of the game reached base and scored in
the bottom of the first and the Bearcats fell silent for the rest of the
damp evening at Devault Stadium. Pitcher Trey Roark had a perfect game
going into the fifth before the Vikings were able to get a hit. Roark
gave up the second hit of the night in the sixth and the Vikings were
able to push a run across the plate on a passed ball. Two hits were all
the visiting Tennessee High team could muster as Roark accumulated
eleven strikeouts. Zak Messer had two hits for the Bearcats and Preston
Smith belted a double and added a run with a sacrifice fly.
